Bundoran Farm, a preservation development located in southern Albemarle County, Virginia, will soon bring its residents the most advanced entertainment and communications services available in the area. This is possible through a partnership with Connexion Technologies, one of the nation's premier fiber-optic amenity companies. Connexion will build a Fiber to the Home (FTTH) network throughout the community.

“This fiber-optic network will deliver telephone, television, high-speed Internet and other services to residences at the speed of light,” said Amy Westwood, Director of Technology for Bundoran Farm. “The beauty of the network is that it will not only meet the current technological needs of our residents, but also their future needs.”

A fiber-optic network can accommodate these future needs through its unlimited bandwidth, one of the many benefits of this emerging technology. This allows the network to accommodate new technologies as they come to market. Fiber is more reliable than coaxial cable because it does not conduct electricity, resulting in fewer outages and greater resident satisfaction.

“There’s a revolution occurring with fiber-optic technology and it’s contagious,” said Glen Lang, founder of Connexion Technologies. “Home buyers are starting to demand it. It’s no longer a question of if, but when fiber will be in most communities across the US.”

Connexion Technologies builds fiber-optic networks underground to eliminate visual disruption of the environment and minimize disturbance to the land.

“The partnership with Connexion Technologies represents our commitment both to technology and to environmental stewardship," said Joseph Barnes, Development Director for Bundoran Farm.  “This network will help us preserve the character of the landscape.”

About Bundoran Farm

Located just 20 minutes from Charlottesville and the renowned University of Virginia, the 2,300 acres of Bundoran Farm are nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Two ponds provide a place for quiet reflection or fishing, and farm buildings and cottages dot the landscape, framing views that typify the slower pace and natural beauty of the Albemarle County lifestyle. This land remains intact today because of a legacy of family stewardship, a tradition of care that will continue for generations to come.  Bundoran Farm is not just a place of rare visual beauty. It is a thriving landscape of cattle and orchards - a place where deer, fish and birds find quiet refuge. A place where a network of over fifteen miles of walking and riding trails winds amongst mature Piedmont forest species. And where, most importantly, all of this will remain intact for future generations. In fact, 90 percent of Bundoran Farm will remain untouched by residential development thanks to the careful process of Preservation Development.  More information about Bundoran Farm and Preservation Development can be found by visiting www.bundoranfarm.com.
