Support for Sustainable Land Development
Terracon also recognizes the importance of sustainable land development. We are taking steps to incorporate sustainability and green initiatives into our business practices and service offerings. Terracon’s executive leadership recently announced funding for a firm-wide sustainability initiative to research how Terracon can improve its energy reduction and recycling, and how we can provide our core services in a way that adds to the sustainability of any given project. Our Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®)-certified environmental and geotechnical professionals work with owners, as well as architects and other engineers, to assist in the sustainable design process.

Terracon’s experience with LEED-certified developments includes the National Park Service Headquarters and the Department of Homeland Security in Omaha, Neb.; the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Quilt Study Center in Lincoln, Neb.; the IBM-Tivoli Campus in Austin, Texas; the Fort Osage Education Center in Jackson County, Mo.; and the Sunset Drive Office Building in Olathe, Kan.

We are also nationally recognized as a service provider for site redevelopment and brownfield projects. Our services contributed to award-winning redevelopment and Brownfield projects that includes the Victory Redevelopment project in Dallas, Texas, site of the American Airlines Arena and Victory Park; the redevelopment of downtown Greenville and the Lee Street Corridor in Greenville, Texas; the revitalization of the Port of Dubuque in Dubuque, Iowa; the Iowa River Landing project in Coralville, Iowa; and the RENEW Moline project in Moline, Ill.
